In June 2020, Dixie released her first single called "Be Happy," and the song quickly took over TikTok.
About the song, Dixie said in a press release: "I wanted to share the honesty of this message with others, especially those around my own age ... I remain so grateful for the people that surround me and the opportunities I’ve been given, but some days, as we all know, it’s not easy to be happy. My hope is that anyone who listens can be reminded that it’s okay to feel what we feel. It’s okay have a bad day. We all have them and you are not alone."
On July 1, 2020, she dropped the music video for the song on YouTube. As of this writing, it's amassed over 44 million views. When it was released, Dixie's music vid was the "number one trending YouTube video in the world right now, passed Kanye West and Travis Scott's new song, and got, like, 10 million views in a day," according to fellow TikTok star Griffin Johnson (more on him later).

"We were already very close, but since all this [TikTok fame] started, we’ve realized that no matter what happens, we have each other’s backs — and no one can get in the way of that," Charli said of her and Dixie's relationship in the June/July issue of Girls' Life, according to Just Jared Jr.
